  2. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) had some choice words for Sen. Ted Cruz on Thursday: Resign. The congresswoman told the Texas Republican that he should resign if he wanted “to help,” after he agreed with a tweet of hers, in which she called for transparency into the trading app Robinhood’s decision to stop investors from buying.

An image of a naked young woman in a bath purported to be her was circulated on conservative websites.

The Daily Caller posted it with the headline: “Here's The Photo Some People Described as a Nude Selfie of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.'

The congresswoman hit back on Twitter, saying the photo was a fake.

The Daily Caller changed the headline and apologized, tweeting, 'As soon as editors noticed the twitter headline, we rapidly had it deleted and fixed ... We regret the error, as the intent was to inform our audience that a fake image was circulating online.'

Ocasio-Cortez fired back, saying it wasn’t an apology and said the website was “targeting” her.

The woman in the bathing photo scandal is actually Sydney Leathers, from the Anthony Weiner sexting scandal.

Leathers, who is a fan of Ocasio-Cortez, tweeted, 'hey @aoc, I’m sorry creeps are trying to pretend my pics are actually pics of you.'

She also called Ocasio-Cortez a “national treasure.”

Leathers told Inside Edition it's her in the photo.

'I still live in the same house. That is still my bathtub,' she said. 'They were trying to say, ‘Oh, zoom in on the faucet. It is the congresswoman’s breasts!’ and in reality it was me the whole time!”

Leathers now writes for the political website Washington Babylon.

'Of all the politicians I could possibly get in trouble, she is the last one I would do any damage to,” she said. “I think she is fabulous.'

Once upon a time in America, freedom of the press was sacrosanct.

People on the right agreed.

People on the left agreed so much that they took over the major media outlets, but in the modern age we have figured out why: It isn’t because they really believe in a free press, it’s because the left believes in creating narratives and controlling the flow of information.

Leftists began to lose their chokehold on information flows when ‘upstart’ conservative talker Rush Limbaugh managed to build a massive nationwide radio audience in beginning in the late 1980s. And the left’s grip on what information Americans were ‘allowed’ to see really diminished with the rise of the Internet.

But it’s the rise of the latter that has essentially allowed the left to regain its near-monopoly on information, as we’ve seen over the past few years via censorship, platform bans, and outright denial of service (see what Amazon and Google did to Parler just last week).

And now, according to one of Congress’ biggest Marxists, ‘economist’ Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), her party is exploring ways to literally cut the First Amendment’s freedom of the press guarantee out of the Constitution.

Fox News has more:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that Congress is “looking into” media literacy initiatives to help “rein in” the press to combat misinformation in the wake of last week’s deadly breach of the U.S. Capitol.

During a lengthy live stream on Instagram on Tuesday night, the leader of the so-called “Squad” discussed the aftermath of the Capitol riot, how she feared for her life during the chaos and what needs to be done going forward.

At one point, Ocasio-Cortez read a question from a viewer who asked if there is discussion in Congress on “truth and reconciliation or media literacy initiatives” to help with healing.

“I can say, there is absolutely a commission being discussed but it seems to be more investigatory, in style rather than truth and reconciliation, so I think that’s an interesting concept for us to explore, and I do think that several members of Congress, in some of my discussions, have brought up media literacy because that is a part of what happened here and we’re going to have to figure out how we rein in our media environment so that you can’t just spew disinformation and misinformation,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“It’s one thing to have differentiating opinions but it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false,” she continued. “So that’s something that we’re looking into.”

‘Truth and reconciliation panels’….where have we heard about these before?

Oh, right…in Soviet Russia, during the time of Stalin, or in Communist China, where ‘wrongthink’ will get your rear end sent for ‘reeducation.’
